R2-D2 Restraining Bolt STL Files

STL Files to 3D print your own R2-D2 Restraining Bolt.

STL Files Included in the download:

• Restraining Bolt Bottom
• Restraining Bolt Middle Ring
• Restraining Bolt Top

The download also includes a STEP file so you edit the files as needed.

This is a static prop and has not been designed to hold any electronics.

Has a hole in the bottom for a 6mm x 3mm Neodymium Magnet so can be attached to anything metal.

Files included are for a Full Size R2-D2 and the DeAgostini Half Size R2-D2 Restraining Bolt

Full Size Measures - 50.5 mm Diameter x 38.25 mm Tall

Half Size Measures 25.5 mm Diameter x 19.5 mm Tall

Features:

• Uses a magnet to secure to your R2-D2
• Includes files for both FDM and Resin 3D Printers

 The 3D printed parts will require sanding and painting to make a quality finished prop.

Preparation of 3D Printed Parts for Assembly:

This is a time consuming process, but more time spent on preparation will result in a better looking prop.

1. All parts will require sanding. (FDM printed parts will require more sanding than Resin printed parts).
2. Assembling the parts. (Some parts can be assembled before painting and fitting the electronics).
3. Fill any seams and joints with a good quality filler.
4. More sanding.
5. Filler Primer.
6. More Sanding.
7. Final Painting
8. Fit electronics (If installing) and final assembly.
9. Weathering (Optional).
