3D Printing Instructions

Printer Settings

These are the settings I use on my 3D printers. You may of course choose to use whatever settings you find best for your printer.
I use PLA+.for all my 3D prints

Layer Height Setting: 

For best results use a layer height of 0.1mm or less. You can use 0.2mm but the parts will require more sanding and preparation.

Infill Settings:

These are the settings I use but again you can choose what you feel is best for your printer and filament.
30% infill for all parts.

Walls/Shells Settings: 

I reccomend printing with a minimum of 3 walls/shells, much less chance of sanding through 3 walls/shells.

Top and Bottom Layers: 

I use 4 top and bottom layers. You can use what ever you find best for your printer and filament. 

Support Settings: 

Use supports on all parts.

The STL files are set in the orientation I use to print them but you can change this it it makes them easier to print on your printer,

Additional Parts Required

You will require 3 x M2 x 6mm cheese head screws to secure the scope front and a round glass cabochon 30mm in diameter for the eye piece end. Adding the 2 Neodymium Magnets for the screen holder is optional as is adding the tinted coloured film for the lens.

Preparation and Finishing

Sanding and Painting


To achieve a high quality finish on the prop, these are the steps needed.

  1. Sand using 800 grit sandpaper for the first sanding.
  2. Sand using 240 grit sandpaper for the for a smoother finish.
  3. Fill any joints, seams or print lines using a good quality filler - (Optional).
  4. Sand using 240 grit sandpaper again and check for blemishes.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 if necessary.
  6. Sand using 600 grit wet and dry sandpaper.
  7. Finish off with a good sand using 1200 grit wet and dry sandpaper.


Use good quality spray paint or an airbrush.

  1. Paint with a goof filler primer spray paint - let dry 24 hours minimum.
  2. Check for any blemishes and fill if necessary with a very fine filler.
  3. Sand again using a very fine grit wet and dry sandpaper either 600 or 1200..
  4. Prime with a few coats of good quality primer - let dry for at least 24 hours.
  5. Final sanding using 1200 grit wet and dry sandpaper.
  6. Finally paint in the desired colour with a few thin coats - let dry for at least 24 hours before trying to assemble the Thermal Detonator.


This is purely optional and comes down to personal preference. The are plenty of video's on YouTube showing how to weather props.

Now comes the time to decide if your going to fit electronics or have your E-11 Blaster Scope as a static Prop on your Blaster..

My electronics for the E-11 Blaster Scope (SCTroniX) are available either as a Self Build Kit or a Fully Wired Kit which is ready to put into the 3D printed Scope. 
You can select which screen display size you want when purchasing the electronics.
Choose either:
